If you want to bypass the driver’s side door ajar switch in your Ford car, here’s what you need to do:

  • Then, pull the insulation of the door and slide it aside. To keep it like this, you can use tape or clip.
  • Afterward, locate the door latch pigtail and ensure to check the number of it. Based on the number of pigtails, the method will be different:

  • Now, if you see one pigtail on the door lock latch inside the hole, use a wire and cut its edge slightly so that only the metal part remains.
  • Then, insert the wire’s metal part on one terminal and another part on another terminal.
  • After that, use tape to lock its position and ensure the door ajar switch is bypassed properly without disabling other features.

  • Then again, if you see two pigtails on the door lock latch, cut 2 wire’s edges and ensure to expose the metal parts only.
  • Afterward, use the wire’s metal part on the right side of both pigtail’s right terminals (just like the image above).
  • Next, do the same thing on the left side. Just insert both wire’s edges to the right terminal of both pigtails.
  • After that, use tape to seal the wire into a fixed position before putting on all the removed parts.

If your passenger’s side door ajar switch shows issues, here’s how you can bypass it most easily:

  • To begin with, take out the door panel.
  • Then, pull the insulation that hides the interior gears of the door.
  • After that, locate the door lock latch’s pigtail and inspect its thick wiring harness.
  • Next, use a pocket knife to cut the black insulation that hides the inner wires.
  • Once you do this, you’ll find 4 wires that have different shades: pink/yellow with black strips, pink with orange strips, and two black wires.

  • After that, cut the two black wires and secure the exposed edge using tape or wire caps.
  • Lastly, reinstall all the removed parts.
